My full name is Guadalupe Monroy, but you can call me Lupe.
While developing my brand, I explored different symbols for my logo, but none felt right. I later realized that's because no symbol can adequately portray my love for what I do. My final logo symbol incorporates my initials—LM—to represent how I bring my whole heart to Gozo Spaces.
MY EXPERIENCE

I received my Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo. Alongside my degree, I have worked in design-build firms, where I’ve worn different hats in a multi-disciplinary fashion and experienced successfully completing landscape projects from beginning to end.
I started off as a Junior Designer and quickly learned how to balance multiple roles, including that of a Junior Designer and Marketing Assistant. As a designer, I was responsible for managing residential projects in all phases of development, from site analysis to surveying and preparing construction documents.
My position soon evolved from Jr. Designer to a Designer role and then to Lead Designer/Design Department Director. During this time, I continued designing, supervised my team, and became a bridge between the design and construction departments. Working with the construction department expanded my experience with subcontractors, the permitting process, and construction oversight.
After getting a taste of the construction phase, my role changed to Senior Designer/Project Manager. The role of Project Manager gave me firsthand experience in ensuring a smooth transition between the design development phase’s expectations and the construction phase’s execution.
With comprehensive experience in landscape design, landscape construction, and client relations, I unite expertise and passion in a unique experience for my clients.
In my spare time, I spend time with my family, go to the local farmers market, cook nutritious meals, take community college courses for fun, and lifting more than twice my body weight at the local gym.

IN MY WORK, I STRIVE TO EVOKE A FEELING.
I’ve always been fascinated by the power of indoor-outdoor spaces. Growing up in a large family exposed me to multifunctional spaces, including those outside. I often joke that Latinos are the founders of indoor-outdoor space because we had to find space, but I genuinely see the outdoors as an extension of the home.
I possess 15 years of experience in high-end landscape design. I started in landscape architecture and worked in a design-build company, where I got exposure to multiple high-budget projects outside of residential. Now, I run Gozo Spaces, where I help clients expand their homes outside by creating spaces that are true to their family’s needs.
