Every client has their own unique style, and with the Hockin project, my client knew they wanted to go super modern. (This was one of my first projects where the client wanted to lean into modern wholly.)
While a modern sensibility is all about clean lines and minimalism, I didnāt want the outdoor space to lack personality. We incorporated custom wood paneling as a consistent vertical material, which helped create clean lines while incorporating warmth in the front and backyard.
In the front of the home, we created maximum curb appeal with thoughtfully poured concrete, colored step stones, and a Hollywood strip with gravel for a pop. The fence blends form and function, providing privacy as a throughline with the backyard.
We kept the original pool shape in the back of the home but made everything around it linear to keep our modern theme. You can see a stunning bird of paradise plant, so we designed it with the intention of making it a focal point.
