THE BUTCHER PROJECT
This project was all about problem-solving through custom elements—and the result is a tranquil getaway.

Effective landscape design is like solving a puzzle—and the Butcher project is no exception.
My clients sought landscape design because their outdoor space was cluttered, disparate, untidy, and overgrown. There were so many different elements and a choppy flow that my client didn’t know where to begin.
My work brought unity to the space, with custom features covering up less-than-desirable areas (like a garage) to create a quiet oasis. The space is now charming and artful, with a cobblestone entrance, concrete seat walls, and wood-and-steel elements to screen equipment.
My favorite part is the custom corten steel art piece, which maximizes square footage while providing privacy. It sets the scene for a private area for casual al fresco dining and time with family outside.

Lupe listened carefully and asked clarifying questions that shaped our outdoor space.
We embraced Lupe's imaginative textural designs that incorporated both plants, stone, wood and metal structures. Now we have informal gathering spaces, quiet spots and a space where our once young children grew and harvested vegetables. Thanks to Lupe we’ve made many happy family memories here.
